Milling sub-sector approves salary increments

THE Milling sub-sector has approved a new set of salaries in a bid to cushion workers from the current hardships triggered by the rise in the cost of living.

The agreement covers the period April to June 2024.

“It is hereby notified, in terms of section 0 of the Labour Act that the Minister has approved the publication of the Collective Bargaining Agreement set out in the schedule which provides the agreement published in Statutory Instrument 28 of 2021.

“National Employment Council for the Food and Allied Industries (Milling Sub-Sector),” the SI said.

The agreement was made and entered into accordance with the Labour Act (chapter 28:01) as amended from time to time between the Grain Milling Employers Association of Zimbabwe of the one part, and the Milling Industry Workers Union of the other part, being parties to the National Employment Council: Food and Allied Industries.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Food and Allied Industries published in Statutory Instrument 28 of 2023, is amended by the parties. 

Accordingly, employees in grade A1 will be earning ZiG 3 138, A2 ZiG 3 309 ,A3 ZiG 3 439,B1 ZiG 3 915 ,B2 ZiG 4 126,B3 ZiG 4 311 ,C1 ZiG 4 942 and C2 ZiG 5 175.
