Harare city football club has suspended two coaches on allegations of sexual harassment in a move applauded by many as a way to effectively stem out the vice in the society.
In a statement, the club said coaches Alec Mudirira and Langton Giwa had been suspended pending investigations.
“We can confirm that coaches Alec Mudirira and Langton Giwa both being coaches of Harare City Queens and Harare City Clubs respectively have been suspended due to allegations of sexual harassment. As a club, we take allegations of sexual harassment very seriously and do not condone such behaviour in any form. We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all players, staff and members. We will provide additional information on this matter once the investigation has been finalised,” read the statement.
The club has since appointed Ennie Konje as the acting coach for Harare City Queens.
