THE Tripartite Negotiation Forum (TNF) partners have hinged economic recovery hopes following the devastating effects of the Covid19 pandemic on social dialogue platforms.
The calls come at a time when the world is experiencing the devastating effects of Covid19 .
Zimbabwe has been struck a hard blow resulting in deaths ,hospitalisations and a cutback in incomes as companies pursue baseline survival strategies.
Speaking on the developments recently,acting director for Labour Administration in the Labour Ministry , Langton Ngorima, said social dialogue is vital to achieving Zimbabwe’s development goals.
” We need to reinforce social dialogue to ensure a lasting, sustainable and inclusive recovery from Covid19, where no one is left behind.As the government , we are committed to bringing everyone to the roundtable to make sure that we have a conservation that is mutually beneneficial,” he said.
Also speaking on the dialogue, EMCOZ executive director,Nester Mukwehwa hailed strong partnerships which emerged from the dialogue.
“Strong social partners and a good social dialogue can play an important role in the economic and social development process,” she said.
The main goal of social dialogue itself is to promote consensus building and democratic involvement among the main stakeholders in the world of work.
Successful social dialogue structures and processes have the potential to resolve important economic and social issues, encourage good governance, advance social and industrial peace and stability and boost economic progress.
In Zimbabwe, a social dialogue platform takes place at the TNF which brings together Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) , Employers Confederation of Zimbabwe (EMCOZ) and the government of Zimbabwe.
